    Question seq turbos?

hey fellas i drive a toyota aristo love it to bits but the cost is killing me and insurance is a bitch on it, so later this year i will be getting a polo gti want to find out as much stuff as i can...

wantting to know if its possiable to get a sequential turbo set up in one of these my ultimate aim with the polo is to get about 200kw at wheels +...

so got to find out what mods i will need i have an idea on whats going to be needed not sure on the room for the turbos and what ones would be best.

    your thoughts?

Id budget about 6k. No need for a sequential turbo setup.

Its not the best of cars for modding like an aristo where you can say spend 5k and have 700hp....

Nah no internal work. Just parts for eurocars are really exxy.

Front mounts are 1500 instead of $300 for a jap spec car.

Everything seems to have a eurohighroller tax on it.

I reckon that 6k is a bit optimistic myself for 200kw at the wheels.

I spent way more than that on my A3 and that had a better flowing head than the Polo. I had 165kwatw with a bit of refining to do on the mapping. Don't get me wrong it was pretty quick.

You'll be needing a FMIC and turbo back exhaust. Plus injectors, 3 inch MAF, a fuel pump, 4 BAR FPR and then a map for it.

I'd be considering the clutch too, as well as some brakes.

You'll need some good prices on the bits, to stay on budget.

Yeah. I was probably being very optimistic with 6k. Didnt wanna make him feel bad. ha.

    More like 8-10k

    Turbo - 1500
    Wastegate - 500
    Clutch - 1000
    Manifold - 600
    Injectors - 800
    Intercooler - 1500
    Exhaust - 1500
    Fuel pump - 220
    FPR - 250
    Assorted piping - 200
Custom Tune - 1000+ cause no one wants to touch it.

And then dont forget the most important mod for gays.
    Blow off valve - 300

Thats $8470 there without any labor. But my calculations are very rough. Take some and add some either way.

Speaking of tuning. There is a place north of brisbane who are / can and have now remaped the polos ecu on the dyno so this would be the place to go.

If you go ahead I'd be interested to see your progress.

Have a look at the 'Meet my Polo?' thread, Plautos has done some amazing work to his Pog for track work and has a good understanding of its limitations.

I don't think that 200kw atw is going to be much fun, wheelspin is a huge issue due to the limitations of the tyre size and FWD. A chipped GTI will do 140+ kw at the fly, I don't personally think its worth while doing much more than this in terms of power unless you plan to do some serious work to the traction side of the car (including LSD).

If you're serious about playing with a VW, the R32 being RWD is a much better platform for a serious tuned car.

Again, please don't be deterred by me, if this is what you want, I'd be glad to read and watch your progress... Good luck.

i have read his thread quite a bit of it i think i am leaning towards a Mk4 r32 nw that i have read a few things its just a matter of it being out of my budget atm. But see as the r32 is awd i think it would be mre cost effective to mod an r32 over a polo. thanks for the answers
