People are willing to pay as it looks stock standard and it's a VAG part. As well as making a difference on a chipped car.

absolutely, when push comes to shove I'll pay up, though if it's being done cheaper and just as a effective, it's worth investigating.

Does anyone have any measuremeants for the diameter of the SEAT intake?

I'm talking about the diameter from the larger end...

its not circular, has notches to manouvre around other components, and is a snug fit.

I'd stick with the Seat or go stock, making your own is going to be pretty painful to get similar...
