I managed to turn up to work late... after visiting the post office... then managed to abandon my post for 10 minutes while i assembled the latest addition.

Works a treat, i could swear its slightly louder... don't know about performance... but thanks shaneth for all your efforts.

My vote is onwards to panel filter!

I agree about the panel filter, but which brand. BMC are having a dispute with there Oz distributors. I have emailed Green Filters (polo guys in UK use them) but no response. I have been told that K&N arent as bad as some make out just dont put alot of oil on the filter. What other options are there.

I've ordered Pipercross (PP1599) from Revolution Racegear - around $78 or so.
I'll let you know the results.

Seems to take about 3 weeks to get here from the UK...still waiting
I dont know a lot about them, but they do seem to have a good reputation.
When it arrives I'm planning on doing some testing with a vacuum gauge on the intake system so I'll post the results.

Ok, my right hand was bleeding profusely from the side of my little finger from a sharp corner on the battery cover, however I finally got the little SOB fitted in!!! Yep, that's right, I have big hands, and it sure was a tight fit. In the end my wife volunteered to fit the screw back in, god bless her - finishing the job perfectly.

To get the new intake to to slide in, found that it helped to lift the whole turbo unit a bit i.e. lift it up - it sways a fair bit.

The old thing looks severely restrictive.

Only went for a short spin, bit hard to tell of any difference yet however my pug is responding beautifully to everything now that I've just done my 30k service and also I have my APR programme fitted.
