    Sat Nav

Thinking about getting an in-dash Sat Nav system, was looking at Kenwood DNX7320NAV and Pioneer AVIC-F900bt. Anyone have any thoughts on either of these? What other systems are out there on the market?

Also, saw that in South Africa, the Polo get Sat Nav option, so I'm guessing there is a VW OEM system that fit the Polo? Anyone know which model that is or if any of the VW OEM sat nav options would fit?

IMO I'd choose Pioneer over Kenwood anyday.

I don't know who makes them but EBay has got a few people selling double din sat nav/CD players for around $800 with the connections needed for the VW's.

Purely looking at the nav capabilities, the Kenwood use rebadged Garmin products, so are very good. I know who does the underlying Nav application for the pioneer and its a less convincing.

Well, I'm just curious what model it is that they use in SA as it is listed as an option, but in Aust, we don't get that option. There are a few Sat Nav models in Australia for VW such as the RNS 510, and I am wondering whether any of them would fit the Polo,

The Polo Sat Nav from factory is the RNS MCD.

This system is a CD base type that gives you directions not via maps but written directions, eg turn right down this street.

Very old style, like 10 years ago. Only supported in Europe.
