Nah, they came with the Yellow-Speed Dynamic Pro Sport coilovers.
The foam looks clean, I’ve just got some black race tape on them at the moment. That’s probably how they will stay

Good stuff. What tops are those? S15 ones like Simon recommended? To border the rough edges I used a circular split foam. You could probably get it from Clark rubber.

This is the difference between 19mm diameter wrist pin rods and the 20mm diameter wrist pin rods eg out of a BAM Audi S3. Diameter bigger but also the small end width too. Since the 20mm pin rods have a wider small end do you think thats why people go with forced pin oiling/rifle drilled rods as the squirters just wouldnt be able to get oil in there as easily as the 19mm pin rod which is more 'open' at the top? The big bopper rod manufacturers like Carillo dont do rifle drilled rods. they seem to all be non- force pin oiled. Based on the amount of material up there though the 20mm rods look a hell of a lot more stout. Maybe if I do go china rods going 20mm wouldnt be a bad idea just to get more material in the rod.
Bigger is always better right!
I’m sure you’d be able to pick up oem 20mm pistons cheap. They seem to be pretty strong for most applications.
I’ve seen the maxspeedingrods and such have clogged up holes out of the box. Something to check if you end up with them.

I'm pretty sure I can get S3 9:1 pistons. Woud prefer to stay 9.5:1 considering that I'm going large port but I don't think it'll be a huge deal. So whats the go with OEM 20mm wrist pin S3 pistons. I assume they don't break at the pin since they are built stronger there - do they S-bend - do they handle a lot more than the OEM 19mm pin rods? Wondering if S3/TT rods will handle K03-022/23 type power if they are ARP bolted. Obviously from a question like that you can see that money is super tight.
Internet says the 20mm rods are on the limit at around 330ft/lb torque. Which is the same as the 19mm rods, so the pin size isn’t the weak factor yet. It’s just the 19mm has no, or very little aftermarket support. Majority if not all aftermarket rods are 20mm
K04-22/23 on E85 with an aggressive map can bend rods.

damn thought so. Just wanted you to tell me otherwise so you could support a possible cheap skate theory of mine.
Ok china forged of some variety, coupled with S3 pistons seems to be the future recipe then. I really will be out of money at the end of all this. So I'll probably be running a big port lower comp motor that may actually be slower than what I have because I'll still have a K03s due to lack of funds for the TFSI turbo, that this whole thing started out with!!! In the meantime at least i'll be able to run a two step without bending anything (hopefully) and get those hillclimb start line times down and it'll have the plate LSD built box helping me along too.
edit: hang on 330lb/ft is a lot of Nm's. Would a K04-022/23 really be making that? A hybrid yes, but an OE tuned up turbo?? Then again those figures would come from UK/US dynos which read way above ours generally don't they, so in reality I'd be running the gauntlet with a TFSI GTi turbo wouldn't I.

I was making something around 250ft-lb/338nm (at the engine) on 7psi on the launch control.
20psi and full noise would be up on the rod torque limit for sure.

Point taken. No wonder rods bend with launch control. 20mm pin end Rods then. The maxpeeding ones are like 280 bucks. I'd be dumb not to get them.
