Praying for rain? Heresy! Anyway, had a good run yesterday, we got 6 runs in, and after my first run (on a very cold track) my next 5 runs were separated by just 0.14 seconds. Kinda frustrating when trying to improve! I was running about 8th outright after the first run, but finished the day 19th (58 competitors). The track was pretty cold all day. Ran a 44.57, what do you normally run on the A2 layout? Hope you don't mind me posting some video?:

    See you next weekend.

Thats quick dude. I haven't run the A2 since last years state round. It was wet in the morning and then patchy and then more or less dry on the last run so a bit tricky, but your time would have put you at the very front. I did a 44.60 back then I think so you went quicker. - nice! the results should be up on the polo tracking thread or the MGCCN website from back then. I'm getting worried about you. You just did that round, you'll probably be able to do it in your sleep after Saturday practice and then i'll rock up on sunday morning after a lame coffee and you'll smash me.

I didn't end up entering for the practice this coming weekend, I figured that given it was the same layout as yesterday that I wouldn't need it, and should probably spend at least Sat at home, and save my tyres a little. I ran 45.94 first run (I ran 4th, track was stone cold), then 44.71, 44.59, 44.67, 44.57 and 44.63... Might have to try something different if I want to get much more out of it! Doubt I'll beat you, I'm sure your car will be a fair bit quicker than last year won't it? If I pick up some semis at some point then I'd hope to be closer to you, but then next year we'd be in different classes anyway, from what you were posting earlier. But hey, I'll give you some competition if I can!

yeah you were definitely hovering in a sweet spot with your times. Your last 4 times within a tenth and a half shows you were tidy and probably getting all you could out of it. Did your fiddle with your tyre pressures much? Tell you what though if you can pull off those times again you'll be going close to a trophy. pretty tidy. My car will be a bit nippier than last time, less power but narrow softs instead of wider mediums have helped and the suspension dialled in a bit more. Diff will be the biggest thing though. I've decided to run with the front anti roll bar set to hard. I'm hoping i'll still get really good drive out of the corners cos of the diff, but want the front end to roll less when the inside rear gets in the air. If I have a turd first run though don't be surprised to see me under the car straight away putting it all back. Hey don't worry about the classes - I think in any capacity road reg every one is quietly eyeballing what the others are doing. Its always interesting seeing which cars and drivers come to the front at different tracks/conditions. I noticed that Woods in the Megane has entered - he can go in about 3 classes but can run in road reg >2.5L with us. It'll be interesting to see if we're still close. If he's way quicker than me on this course (without the extra loop/less straights) then it probably means he's faster in the corners than me. If the opposite happens though then i'll be stoked. If he rocks up shod with softs though, I won't even get a look in. I'm pumped - just want to get it happening and a bit nervous actually.

PS..... don't forget your rego papers. Not needed for the club events but you need it to prove you are a streeter/daily at the states

PPS..... I think you are last on track. I'm 64th sandwiched by the FPV and the clubsport and you are 71st. Road should be swept clear and hopefully a bit rubbered in for our first runs. I don't know how the open wheelers go out first on track in the morning and gun it like they do. Big testes, much like this guy:

Haven't played with tyre pressures really yet, guess I probably need to be thinking about that soon. I'd just been setting it to 31psi on all 4 corners after a run, which seems to work decent, while I concentrate on getting a handle on the car.

Thanks for tip on the rego paper. I wonder where I put it... I do have a photo of it, reckon they'd accept that?

Yep, last out. Given the last two club events I've run third and fourth on the list, I'll be happy not to have to run first thing in the morning! Would've been interesting to get my first run on Sunday on camera, it was slippery! But I hadn't had time to get the camera running.

I can maybe find 7/10th off the line compared to my old time, but to then find another 7-8/10ths over such a short run is a lot. Yeah those cars are insane - they are basically willing to die for it hey.
