RE suspension, I'm happy with both cars for ride and handling. I've got the lowest H&R springs with Bilstein in the daily and H&R coilovers in the track car. The daily sits about 2cm lower than my track car, so depends on aesthetics and budget.
Hey Guys,
I know im still new but keen to get opinions and ideas on what some of you have experienced good and bad.
The Polo is about 2 months new to me. So far loving it all the way besides the engine light but im getting ontop of that.
It has the full leather package and sunroof.
Current Mods:
- Cat Back Exhaust (on the car when purchased)
- New Pioneer Double Din (installed myself) with bluetooth mic and Rear view camera. I know the polo is so small it doesn't need one however it came with the head unit so I thought why not. Does come in handy when parking in my garage
- PD160 on the way and will be fitted once arrived. Found a steal. got it for $20
- Replaced all Interior and Exterior lights with Super Whites
- Added a cheap $8 sunglasses holder from Ebay. Actually works really well.
Planned Mods:
- New Dump Valve most likely Forge
- New Rims. Probably 17" (they wont come until I am due for new tyres is about a year)
- Powder coat the current standard rims
- Coilovers (Unsure what to get. I have noticed that my Polo is a really bumpy ride so I would like something that is a lot smoother and will reduce the impact of bumps) Any Ideas?
- Most likely a K&N Filter.
- Maybe a stage 1 tune if I can ever muster the money
Thanks for ready guys and ill keep you posted on the mods as they come.

CC tune is a must, not very expensive
Weitec basic coil overs from UK are generally good for the coin
Highly recommend some of the gear bush mods, makes the experience much nicer.
Enjoy, lots to play with on a budget.
Perhaps get along to some of the meets to see what others are running and get a ride in their cars before committing to a brand or set-up. There was a recent suspension thread started which may be worth a read and assist with pricing your options. Check out sites in UK and Europe, I found the euro sites and the exchange rates to be more favourable.
