The racks I was referring to are OEM.

cheers blitzen- regardless, im gonna drop into the dealer and have a look-see, as i'd prefer to go oem, and last time i checked the price with rakcs and boardholders were like 550aud, which is 150 or so more than rhino or something like that, but seeing as its oem i'd be willing to pay the difference.

then again, the insights of those in this thread is also a deterrent.

damn. $550 bucks extra, that i had already budgeted for the season, that can be used towards other mods.... life is haaaaaard sometimes

I've got a set of Thule racks for the Polo.

Here's a link with the RECOMMENDED PRICES and FITMENT INSTRUCTIONS. I've got the aero bars and paid $290 with locks for them last November.

I use them with my 2 BIKE CARRIERS (also Thule) -

I haven't had any problems with them so far, happily had the bikes on them doing freeway speeds. Little bit of wind noise, but you can't expect not to have some imo, the radio at normal volume is enough to eliminate the noise. I've also had just the bars on (without the bike carriers) and have not had problems with them falling off !

I got my matter with Rhino rectified, $75 for a new rear and the rhino rep fitted it. My fitting was still correct as per their instructions and illustrations (they still suggest otherwise and their fitting is slightly different), though I'm ok with the final result, Rhino were professional in their communication and rectification.

Rhino spoke with their fitter and also had the rep come to check out the vehicle and fit.

If anyone comes across the bike racks like Dean has that are for sale, let me me.

    Hi..

Sorry to bring this thread back up, I managed to acquire a VW oem roof rack for my polo. I am wondering does anyone who has the OEM bars managed to install the thule's wind deflector/fairing onto them?

    Cheers
    Adam
