    Robs polo so far

Hey guys thought i would make a thread about what i have done and how they have affected my car.
    Mods to date.
    1.Tint
    2.APR tune 3 program standerd, 95 and 98.
    3.CAI, Pod and heat shield
4.Audi 312mm Rotors, Audi S3 calipers, Textar pads and Martini Brake Fluid
    5.Whiteline Rear Swaybar.
6.Yokahama Advan AD07 tyres thanks to a mates Ralliart Colt.
    7. Front whiteline swaybar.
    8. Turbosmart Kompact BOV.

    1. The car has a 30% tint all round makes it look cool thats aboout it lol

    2. The APR tune has made the car come alive. The car feels like a complete new beast with torque increased and power increased makesa big smile. I feel the most improvement is its much stronger down low. For the price and power its well worth it.

    3. One day i got bored and tried to improve the Air induction. The bigest problem is the location of the battery, blocking any air flow near the intake.
I made a cardboard knock up of a shield and then started construction of a shield made out of a heat refection meterial and then situated a pod into the shield.

After a while of driving on the new air intake it felt smoother there was no jerking when lifting off the throttel after heavey exceleration. The sound was much louder as well. Have now gone back to the standered air box just to see how it runs.

4.After finding a set of Audi rotors and calipers in Qld i purchased them for my old Golf MK4 generaton they cost around $300 pluys frieght. After an attemped at fitting they didnt go even close to fitting due to the generation have diferent hubs to the gti. So they sat in the shed until a year later when i fitted them to my polo. After cleaning and a good coat of red paint they were ready for fitting.

The pads are just an OEM textar pad little bit better than standerd but still has made a big improvement orver standered.
Fitting took me about 5 hours due to the fact i had never bleed lines or fited brakes before, but it was not a hard task and was done with tools i already had and a few jack stands. The calipers and carriers were a direct bolt on and used the standerd S3 lines due to the fact the polo ones were too short.

    5. The rear Swaybar is the whitline adjustable type installation is simple and easy took 45mins with one side of the cars wheels on the gutter for better access to the rear u beam axel. The car now turns in alot better i have played with the setting and found that with out the front the middel setting is a bit too stiff and does lift off over steer in wet conditions.

    6. Thanks to a Mates Ralliart Colt i was able to pick up a set of AD07 Advan tyres with about 80% tread, He was upgarding to 17" tyres and i was happy to take them off his hands.
They are an awsome tyre so far only had them on 6 hours lol but side walls are nice and stiff comparded to the soft old conties, ride comfort does suffer tho.

7.The Whitline Front swaybar is in and makes the car feel so diferent just makes the car feel like one all joined and working together its confidence inspiring as well. I reckomend the front and rear together for any one after a mod that improves handeling for under $800.

8.The Turbosmart BOV was a kompact version 25mm and was a dual port and cost around $360 and to me made no diference so i sold it lol.

Plans for the polo now are Bilstaein PSS9 coil overs, Forge turbo intake pipe (should have that in the next few weeks), APR exhaust, Bradied brake lines and ATE power groved discs to finish off the brake set up,and one day maybe a FMIC but see how we go with that lot first. I dont think the car really needs any more power for me its at a good power to learn how to use and get the power to the ground, the direction of the car is for hill climbs track days ect but still be a daily driver.
