Noone, I would suggest going straight to a K04, we obviously have well proven software for it that works a charm. To get a real benefit, I can't see where software change will help you with the K03.

Look at Jasn's 1/4 mile time & look at his terminal speed (99mph in 2008 ), so 4 years of development & a new tune & he has made an extra 2mph (101 mph) - so that shows (as most of us know) a 1/4 mile time with a K03 & 98 ron is going to have a very similar MPH (power) regardless of tune. Make your launch better will net you a better time. 60 foot time came down, so did the 1/4 mile time.

I wouldn't be surprised if a K04 Polo could hit mid 13's with a good launch (if the clutch holds up).

Jasn, If you would like, how about we run your Polo on our new dyno & see what power it makes, and maybe get a couple of other Polo's for comparison?

Have to say, I agree with Guy, I doubt the retune made any difference to the qrt time, Jason. All those other bits and pieces that went in, especially wheels and suspension is what is making the difference ..... cold weather atm is not hurting either .....

I'll be up for a dyno, Guy (again). Need to see what I'm making before the power mods start ..... I'll be going K04 within the year and bigger after that.

At the moment, our Polo is a daily driver so not yet wishing to push the boundaries. My target eventually is 200+wkw ....

    Thanks guy.
The APR route is not cheap. A K04 is over a grand before supporting mods, code, labour.

As above, up for over 2k easy.

Happy to run a Polo 9N day when we get a bit more set up - I think the one we did a few years was very educational & everyone left with an insight of what effects power output at the wheels.

Noone, seriously I would swap out your intercooler, even the ebay / home fabbed versions have been shown on data logs & dyno's to outperform the Forge version.

P.S. If you supply your own K04 & regulator, the software upgrade is $750 - make sure you get genuine KKK K04 & Bosch FPR + genuine bolts / fitting kits etc. The K04 will satisfy most of your power needs in that chassis
