Did anything come of this?

Looks like I'm in the same boat as everyone else, trailing through piles of threads, looking at buying the transponder and blank key, and getting no-where with the rest...

Anyone shed some light since 08?

I've bought this key here from eBay had it cut at a local locksmith, I had a lock smith look at coding it but we needed the keypass code, so I'm going to book it into VW to go for coding. Hopefully I'll get this done next Friday, so I can let you know then.
