    Removing front VW badge

I've taken the grill off the car as I'm trying to take the VW badge out of the actual grill.

Has anyone done it? I can't get it out!!! There are 3 clips holding it in but 2 of the clips are poorly designed IMO.

I figured that might be the case, I gave it a go yesterday but it wouldn't budge. I'll have another effort tonight.

I hate dealing with plastic clips as they don't go well with elbow grease haha

Yeah I removed the honeycomb grill with the badge.

Edit - Got it. The top and bottom right clips need to be lifted out then twist it clockwise and out she comes. I was twisting the wrong way...

I wrapped it in black vinyl. Instead of painting it and not liking it I've gone matt black vinyl and so if I don't like it I can peel it off.

The rear badge is a little harder since it is glued in

I wouldn't say that it is glued on but it would be very strong double sided tape! Sean hit it with the heatgun and loosen the glue then with floss or a thin piece of sewing string cut it off behind it.

The badge is recessed so it would be hard to get behind the badge with wire.
