anyone ever installed a remote oil filter in the polo gti?
if so, what type of conversion kit did you use?
where did you mount it in the engine bay?

Not only engine bay, you can also use cavities in guards and so on.

I installed remote oil filters to several different cars but never to Polo. I always used Amsoil single or dual remote kit.
Dual adapter has Bypass and Full flow filter. I use BA90 bypass filter (it is the smallest one-still bigger dia than Ryco Z9, Falcon filter).
If you installing single one, you should use bypass oil filter and leave the original filter in its place. That way you have extra 1L of oil in your engine and by pass oil filter will filtrate all the oil in sump to 1micron every 5 or 6 minutes while driving.

You can go on Amsoil.com and look at the installation pictures in different cars mostly US, last time I checked I also saw a Beetle installation there.

Remote oil filter is used in situations where manufacturers oil filter is hard to get to(or you want more oil in the system and better filtration). Than original filter is removed and adapter is fitted in its place. The adapter is connected with remote oil filter base with 2 hoses (dirty oil IN filtered oil OUT) at the more convenient location.

noone, here is the pic of my old '99 Mx5 10AE which I fitted a remote oil filter to. The standard oil filter location is underneath, and I've circled the new location on the picture.

Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3

Thanks transporter for answering what a remote oil filter is.
some people also like to use a remote oil fiter kit to additionally plumb an inline oil cooler.

Do you guys think this would result in a oil pressure drop by pushing the oil through a remote filter and remote oil cooler?
