just watched the vid Sean. I think the places where our lines differed were into the down hill left hander before the hairpin, into the bottom second gear hairpin and into the left hander at the end of the straight. I was turning in later on those corner. Also out of the second gear hairpin, I was short shifting up to 3rd as I came out of it before throwing it right up the hill into the little complex before the straight. Looks like you were still in second going up the hill - probably more to do with you having the bigger turbo I'd say. Other than that all the same really. Your thing really got up the hill out of turn one well. Sounded like you were able to break into wheelspin there whereas I was running out of puff in third and needed to grab 4th pretty early in the same spot.

Coming off the GP circuit at T6 into Brabham (T7) should be a straight line up the hill all the way to the 90 degree left.
That’s what Nathan Antunes taught me, anyway, seen at 3:40 in this video:

    And for some nostalgia:

gday Machine. That bit where he took the wheel for a sec to straighten you up out of the last chicane and apexing the down hill left hander early - I was probably trying to grab too much throttle on the way out which is why I was prone to running wide on the exit and from then on I was turning in late. But I get what he says about making too much of a corner out of it if you turn in late. That was the most difficult corner for me so I'll definitely try what he said next time and carry more speed into there and be less aggressive on the throttle on the way out.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid the mid corner bump/indentation in the ground as when the car was under corner loads it felt close to bottoming out the suspension front right, so was staying tight left.

And up, ran 2nd the whole way through the hairpins as I tried 3rd a few time but was off boost, lacking the drive out and any faster was understeering. Though 2nd was wheel spin and patience (more wheel spin than patience, which is why I run cheap tyres ). That's where the k03's are so good, such strong mid range. For the hill climbs, I'd take the k03 almost everyday of the week.

Turn one was quite good fun, get the nose in a bit and stand on the throttle. Yeah, I was getting some wheel spin on the way out. I'm not quite sure why given I have the LSD and not making much more power than a worked k03 set-up. I'm thinking it's the bigger front sway bar. If it didn't require dropping the subframe I'd take that off and go back to stock. I have ran lakeside without front sway bar, it was good fun, lots of front roll to adapt to, but once I had the confidence it was damn good. Maybe if I go a second car for daily, I'll pull this one apart and sort some of those nuances.

Ben/Machine - yeah I knew there was a better way through those esses, but couldn't recall. Knew there was a late apex on one of em, haha. Hindsight hey.

And yup, that 2nd vid from Ben is me, "back in the day" (2016). That was a damn hot day, but was well ran by the ARDC guys.

I'd try more rear toe out, more rear swaybar, more rear spring and more rear bump damping before I'd change the front swaybar.

    Cheers

Thanks Gary - yup your spot on. The bar is maxed and I don't have damping adjustment. So yes, rear springs are the way to go and also on the to do list. I run H&R coilovers which H&R don't offer a stiffer spring. Need to get it custom made which is no drama, other than not having a car to get to work... King Spring are local and can do the job.

I'll have to check the toe settings. It has whiteline shims in, but that's about all I know of the rear set-up.

Ben seemed to be in 4th for the south circuit turn 1 in the vid. But that was feeding in from the main circuit at a higher speed to us. Don't think 4th would have worked for us. Yeah id throw rear springs at it Sean. Going from 6kg to 8kg springs on my car was like a new world and I have similar front antivroll to you re spring rates and front bar. Rear springs are cheap, easy to install and easy to sell afterwards if they're not for you.
