    Rear door won't unlock (9n)

    Good afternoon,

Recently bought a 9n to use as a daily. It is all going well, apart from the fact that on the way home from Melbourne to Canberra the rear driver side door has decided to not unlock anymore.

I assume I will have to take the door card off an look inside there. Just wanted to check if there is anything in particular to look for or any trick to getting into it that anyone might know of.

Also, off topic. If anyone knows of any 9n's being wrecked around Canberra. My SE didn't come with fog lights. Seems previous owner may have broken them.

I just tried taking the inner door card off and I ran into trouble trying to lift it off.
I found this online and was doing pretty well:

I got the two torx screws in the handle under the plastic trim.
I believe I got all the tabs around the edges.
I got the plug around the door lock off.
I got the window winder off.
And I can get it slightly out and up - but then the cog that the rear widow winder uses (circled in red) get in the way and wont let the card go up any further. I could do it if the door was open... But I can't get the door open without getting the trim off.... And I can get the trim off without... Grrr!

So... I know this isn't he most popular model on here... But does anyone have any other idea how I can get into the door?

Ok new idea... is it possible to unlock the door from the outside by breaking into it like the road service guys do with the metal door down the outside of the window?
This car is not stolen! I am the owner!

Any idea what to aim for in the door?

No it is not, they way they they do it is by hooking onto the locking rods and manipulating them to unlock the car. The issue with your car is most likely the locking mechanism. Can you get to the bolts to take the seat out to get enough room to remove the door card?

I have had luck before by banging on the door from the outside, over the locking mech while locking and unlocking the car, but it really depends on what bit has failed.

I believe I can hear the locking mechanism moving when I press the unlock button on the key fob.. So I think that may be what is broken...

I had not even thought about removing the seat.
I will look into that. Thanks!
