    RDA Brake slotted rotors.

    Hey Guys

I wasn't sure if any of you guys knew this, so I ran a search, and came up with squat.I was just on the phone to RDA Brakes today, and they were saying they have a slotted rotor for the Polo GTI. Part number is RDA-7198.
They put me on to a supplier here in Darwin, and I was quoted $190 for the front pair. I was pretty impressed by the price, considering that I'm in Darwin, and we usually have to add 20% onto any price!!
Something to consider when I eventually get my brake upgrade done.

I had RDA slotted on a previous car. They would be ok if you want to do upgrade to bigger brakes and need new rotors (which is what I did). I wouldnt bother changing the standard rotors for these. But it is a good price.

Here is a pic when I was painting mine (the friction face of the rotors were taped up, I thought I had a better picture than that):

That's an awesome price. Has anyone replaced the standard rotors with slotted (same size). What sort of results over standard? Ran DBA golds on one of my previous cars, not good in Sydney traffic as took about 10-15 mins to actually start working.

What sort of price have people been able to get for larger brakes (TT, R32 etc)? Do they change your stud pattern as Polo is 5x100 and Golf is 5x112.5 (I think)?

While we're on it, where exactly do you source a set of R32/TT brakes? Wreckers? or can you buy them new?

You can pick up S3 brakes on audi forums everynow and then. R32 brakes are more expensive as they're rarer and a little bigger.

Timbo and MACCAA both use the S3's on track without complaints.

XXX-18T on here might sell his TT brakes one day if he ever fits his new brakes haha

Also could I change the rear discs to be the same size as the front? or would that cause problems?

It's not that simple. The handbrake is a bit of a problem when attempting rear disc changes.....
