Flushed then replaced with G12++ from memory
hope you learnt from the previous owners mistake mate and run g12. i've just had to replace a water pump on an old vw because the housing had been eaten away and i'd put money on the wrong coolant causing the problem...
Flushed then replaced with G12++ from memory
A quick little photo dump of the things I have done to the Polo over the past two years
a) Removed and cleaned the ac fan from behind the glove box. This had a decent build up of dust/dirt from the atmosphere which also had a bit of a smell. Also lubricated the motor with some Inox which seems to have stopped the fan squeaking at low speed.
I have also cleaned any leaves from the cavity under the wipers.
Fan speed 1 wasn't working when I bought the car so I replaced the fan speed resistor with an ebay part as VW wanted >$100
b) Replaced fuse on top of battery. This had a hairline crack due to heat and age. Caused ABS/TCS lights on dash.
c) Gear shift boot with red stitching
d) Bought cheap key Fob off ebay and swapped the button pad over to my key
e) Bought a roll of carpet and cut floor mats by tracing the old mats
2 X Universal Fixing Grips Clamps Floor Holders Carpet CAR MAT Clips Anti Slip | eBay
^these clips fit perfectly over the clips in the carpet and hold the mat in place to stop it from sliding around
f) Modified aerial seal from a mk4 golf (ebay) --> not a perfect fit as was slightly too big but it looks better than none.
g) Sanded and polished headlights with Plastx
h) 3inch dump

I like how the boost gauge hides away. Did you have to modify the base panel to make room for the gauge when the lid is shut?
very tidy. I like your work.
Nice update mate. The hidden boost gauge is great
