radio stays on with keys out of ignition

sitting in the car last night after returning home, took the keys from the ignition but stayed in the car while I answered a text. After about 10 seconds the radio fired up again. The only way to stop it was to put the keys in the ignition, turn the ignition on and off again, and get out.

Similar issue this morning, put a CD in the player without the keys in the ignition. Started playing and the only way to stop it was to go get the keys turn the ignition on/off.

Do cars other than VAG do this?

My radio/cd turns on and off with the ignition. However you can also turn it on and off with off without the key in the ignition.
