    Quick Question!

    Hey Guys,

Just wondering... does the Polo GTI have LSD or is it a single wheel spinner? I've noticed on mine that it might be ( not 100% sure) lsd! What is the best way of finding out?

    Thanks

    Ross

the best way to find out..

get your camera and tripod and point at d car.

jump in and rip up the hand brake

and then just rev to about 6000rpm and dump it and show us the result.

Its supposed to have what VW calls an eletronic diff lock. (EDL) Should theoretically work like a diff lock ...

Below from VWs specifications and definitions on the Polo GTI.
    http://www.volkswagen.com.au/vwcms_p....0040.File.pdf

    "
    Electronic Differential Lock (EDL)
EDL improves driving and steering characteristics when accelerating on road surfaces where each wheel has a different degree of traction. The system operates automatically and is combined with the ABS
system. Using the ABS wheel sensors, EDL monitors the speed of the individual driving wheels. When a difference in driving wheel speed is detected (i.e. when one wheel starts to spin due to differences in
road surfaces, e.g. due to water or dirt) the system brakes the spinning wheel, transferring engine power to the wheel with the best traction. EDL is active in forward and reverse and operates up to
    40km/h.

Actually it is quite painful to see in action (especially in the wet) and does not work at all like a diff lock......

Yea when you're spinning in first it says atleast 60 lol.

Electronic Diff lock is crap, it cuts engine power so it doesn't have to work anyway.

May be some computer people that do ecu programs can keep the diff lock on so it works like a lsd but leave off the traction control and also give us a launch control. let ya spin the wheels a bit but not kill the action straight away. You guys might like it .

Thanks to all for your helping me out there........ hmmmm I'm thinking, is there a way you can install LSD on the Polo GTI? It would be nice if we had it! especially when driving in the wet and considering how bad the traction can be after its been chipped! If so, has anyone done it?
