Not mine, I have a Polo as well. Random image I pulled from google.

My guess would be that the track names only display if you're playing an MP3 CD, as the CD player in the Polo will only display track names when playing MP3 files and not when playing a normal CD with CD text.

Then again, it could be another non-AUS feature!

When playing MP3s, the track name , artist etc. is displayed on the head unit. On the MFD, only the track number and file number are displayed. At least that's as far as I can tell. Maybe I haven't delved into too deeply and missed some swicth. Might try it on the way home tonight.

Mum's Eos has the MFD but I've not yet been able to pull up ID3 tags. I also haven't seen the compass in the upper left either. Considering the car's units are in miles, I'm going to assume this is yet another feature we don't get?

You can retrofit the dash with the full size MFD (multifunction display), but be prepared to pay ~ $1000 for the instrument cluster + coding from your VW dealer.

We have done some Polo Nav conversions for dealers.

No luck. I can't see anything that can display track titles on the MFD. I did find out about something call GALA, though!

I think you will find the pic supplied is of a golf with Sat Nav fitted. That would explain the extra functionality over a standard Golf.

do you have details of this? i'm interested to explore the option of retrofitting the MFD in the polo gti.

what would it display?? i'm guessing the current gear would not appear there since it's a manual gearbox? any pictures of a MFD on a polo gti?

btw, can't the MFD be changed alone without changing the entire instrument cluster?

while we're at it, i also have additional questions which if anyone else could answer would be most appreciated:
    1. in my car, i don't have a door open sensor (only for the boot). there is a light in the instrument display but it never lights up. can this be retrofitted?
    2. there is also an indicator that lights up if you have forgotten to put on your seatbelt. this lights up when i turn the ignition but it never works. can this be retrofitted?

pardon my ignorance about these things. they're new to me. just exploring options to do these.

    thanks.
