I managed 14.1 @ 103mph on stock tyres (flash, CDA, full exhaust, FMIC). Below is my only ever 13sec run, unfortunately the slip was lost so it doesn't count..

Pretty sure thats what ours was - lousy 60 foot & wheel spun until about 3800rpm in 3rd

That was with K04 & LSD (and exhaust / intake, IC etc)
    Was that on 104?

Neil, what were your 60 foot times?

Damn, 109mph !! Mid-range, your Polo would have beaten your Cayman S

I reckon you are right Neil - The Cayman S ran 13.5's x 4 with my co driver & myself - no trap speeds or 60 foot as it was at the Indy Rally last year.

Good thing about the Cayman is it just hooks up nicely

What do you guys think about tyre pressures? I haven't had any experience with front wheel drive cars, but when I used to take my SS commodore down to the Kwinana motorplex, a lot of the guys (me included) would regularly drop our back tyre pressure from around 30psi to between 18-20psi. It certainly seemed to help on the launches.

I think my best 60fts were around 2.3, average was 2.5 - although I made up ground with plenty of mid-range grunt. I also tried lower tyre pressures, taking the spare wheel and rear seat out etc but I found it made zero difference - the car's very light as it is.

I'd be lucky to pull high 14s these days

tyre pressure would all depend on what size and type of tyres you are running, but it deffinatly helps to drop them down some psi.
used to run 15psi in my old little starlet tyres, the thing was an animal. would run consistant 12.9s everyday, terrible 60 fts with 2.4 sec but whopping big 118mph
the first 60ft is where its won or lost

4efte, it had a stock 1.3l motor that comes with the toyota gt starlet, with a few minor accesories making 220 hp atw
with the size of the motor that is in the polo, you could get serious and see some decent power out of these little things.
