    Preparation for the spurs

Hey guys, I'm heading out to the reefton and black spurs for a run tomorrow with a coupla mates, and just wanted to know if theres anything i can do to make the car go a bit better? In the corners that is, because power means next to nothing there I read that I should let the tyres out about 1~2psi from factory recommendation?

Make sure and dont cross onto the wrong side of the road in reefton.

i was up there twice in the past 2 weeks (on motorbike though) and the biggest concern up there is 4wd's that cant keep to their own side of the road.
    currrently... MY10 GTI | DSG | Candy White | Sunroof | 18's | BT | MDI
previously... MY08 GT TDI | DSG | Reflex Silver | Sunroof

Just be careful. It's a big day's driving, and they is some tricky roads up there. I lost my car up there, and I'd hate to see that same thing happen to some one else.

as for tyres, 1-2psi won't make a massive difference imo

Yeah, I've been up there once before. The scariest thing was when there was one of those huge log trucks on the opposite side Care to share what happened Jarred?

Although I now live in Perth I used to live in Kilsyth and rented with the Sgt of Healesville Police. He used to pull cars, bikes, buses and trucks out of the Spur most weekends. Awesome road (if you have it to yourself.) Miss those trees...nothing like that near Perth!!

back end unexpectedly came out, ended up spining into the verge and planting it on it's roof. It was a mk 1, not a polo, but similar could happen. wrote it off in about 4 seconds.

I wasn't fanging it either at the time. poor Road conditions and inexperienced drivers are a terrible combination.
