RON is RON. The lead was added to the base fuel as an octane booster.
With ULP the octane is boosted by other means.
My info has Standard at 92 RON and Super at 98 RON.
LRP was 96 RON, created with an AVSR additive into PULP 98
Standard at 92 RON with lead would be close to 95 PULP in terms of useability.
Just goes to show that with the introduction of ULP, the oil cos gouged again by supplying crappy 91 RON to replace Standard, which was effectively a 95 RON fuel.
The 87 RON figure has been published a few times as being the actual octane rating of ULP as delivered at the pump by some unscrupulous operators.

I posted an email up on this forum quite a while ago wherein VW Oz stated to me that they consider premium unleaded to be 98 (in Australia) and that using anything less in a VW product requiring premium will likely void the warranty if any issues can be traced to the use of poor fuel.
