Do we even know if Australia is getting the new GTI at all?

We can't seriously go from being one of the first places to get the current Polo GTI to not getting the next one can we??

Yeah I know! It'd be hard to believe we get snubbed wouldn't it.

Well, the models bar the GTI have been slotted for early 2010(?), so let's hope the GTI isn't too far behind. If it's that much better over the current GTI, I reckon there might be a tiny chance of me selling up & grabbing a new one...........though it'd have to be MILES better (chances are I won't - I think i'm just getting swept away with the excitement of a new model coming out).

looks wise yep it will be heaps better, rest is a toss up it will have some better points some that can be disputed that are worse but I'll finish off the warranty on my current one before I start seriously thinking of getting the next one...though all bets are off if the Sirocco comes here I'll sell my left nut and kidney for one of those.

I'd be worried they would put a smaller engine in it (1.4T for example).

I love that the 9n can easily be tweaked to 150ish kw.

Neither of these are a GTI, they are just 'upgraded' base model polo's.

they look very similar to fox wheels.. cheap tempe ones

One size bigger and they would look heeeeaps better....but i do agree at that size they look quite cheap.

As much as I'd like to say me too (and believe me, I really do) -- There's no way I could justify the price. Not to mention, it'll have the same engine as the new Polo GTI, so I'm sticking with the new Polo GTI. If it turns out to be as descent as it sounds, I might trade up early.

That thing looks crazy! If the new BMW 1 series is anything to go by, it will carry the prestige badge price.

Have to agree with Pixl, its such a different ballpark in price compared to the budget little Pog.
