ABS I wouldn't worry about, Gearbox is a different issue that needs to be fixed. Probably best to head down to someone like Camden GTI I wouldn't worry about taking it to a dealer.
Guys
I just recently bought a VW polo 2003, problem is gearbox (auto) is flaring (sort of revs up without passing the power to wheels), VW has advice that a service ($564) may fix this but can also make it worst ($4000+) also need to replace ABS unit ($2750) as ABS and EPC lights come on on panel. Brakes work just fine only the ABS may not work, I've been advice. Should I be concerned?
Can anybody provide any advice on these, maybe a known place where they can fix gear boxes, brakes (good prices). I am located on North part of Sydney.
Cheers

Guys,
Just to update this thread. I took the car to Automatic Transmission Service & Repairs - Gear Box - Diffs - Mechanical Repairs - Central Automatic Trasmission Service on Saturday morning (they open at 7:00 am) and one person there was kind enough to take the car for a spin and run a full diagnostic with the computer. He come to the conclusion that something was wrong with electronic and need to fix that first... no charge!! and recommend a place around the corner. Those guys fixed and away we go.
I seriously recommend this place to anybody having trouble with gear box. There were fast precise and honest. I must add I took the car to VW, several times and not please at all with the service and the charge.
Cheers
