First one looks like it is to suit a golf more than a polo

It has round corners, polo is very square, like the second one in the link

Good point that I hadn't noticed.

Sent seller a question regarding that.

Tough decision as I already have a single din Pioneer DVD from the previous car, or to sell that and get a double DIN... hmmm.

Thanks to ef9 for showing me these.
Hey, dont get the single din fascia kit above, i got it, and it doesn't fit, i ended up using just the pocket. the seller only recommended me the double din one. then i saw the single din one thought it would be the same, but found out the hard way

I fitted the single din HU with the metal bracket from pioneer, and a pocket, which comes with the fasia kit that i got from ebay that didn't fit. i believe you can get the pocket from JB hifi for $15-$20. the pocket moves abit, and it does not look factory, but im happy with it for now.

    Here are some pics:

Power cable - through kick panel, front guard, into engine bay

Ran my power cable for the sound system yesterday.

    Here are some pics:

Remove left (passager side) kick panel (unscrew/remove the tray under the glove box, as it block the top part of the kick panel)

you will find a rubber cover, access to the left front guard, near the door hinge

jack up the car, remove the front left wheel, remove the screws that lock the plastic guard under the front guard (i only remove 12 screws, from right to left, and left the screws under the bumper, i had enough room to work with)

remove the rubber guard/cover behind the guard, (only one screw), you will gain access to the door hinge from there.

remove the rubber cover you saw from the 2nd pic. you can easily push it out, from inside the car. poke a hold, then push the power cable through it.

Then feed the cable through from inside the carbin.

Dont put the rubber cover back in place until you have the right length, feed the cable through to the hole in the front guard into the engine bay, it comes out next to the water bottle and battery.

all done. you should be able to figure out the rest, i didn't have to remove the rear trim, just pushed it through the gap and you will see it under the back seat, sorry didn't take a pic of that. if you are upgrading the rear speakers, you will have to remove the rear trim anyway. hope this helps. cheers, Kevin.

ef9 how did you secure the wire behind the guard liner? I had a look and can't really see anywhere to mount it to, did you just leave it loose?

xc17ed, i just left it loose, but not really, as it's pretty tight end to end, so it sits on top of the black guard liner and won't drop or move.

    All,

I know it is an old thead, but I need your help guys. Trying to install Blaupunkt New York 800 into Polo GTI 9n3. Purchased Connect2 CTSVW002 Can Bus. Firstly it is not plug and play as advertised. Unit wouldn't power on. After reading multiple forums, I have figured out how to get the power to the unit - by connecting it to Power Antenna. However once the ignition is turned off the unit looses its all pre-sets (radio, bluetooth contacts, etc).

    Has anyone experienced this?
Is the Connect2 device is faulty
Any other way to connect stereo so it doesn't loose its memory

    Thanks for your help

Hi guys! Im new to this so bare with me.... But I just took the head unit out my 55 plate polo - easy enough, bought the adaptor to take the original plug to the one that fits aftermarket headunits, I put in a pioneer headunit double din, everything works fine apart from it turning off with the key!!! I know you guys have to discussed this but I'm hoping you can tell me in simple terms what exactly do I have to do, I swapped the red and yellow over and it's still doing it, what do I have to put where to get it to turn off? And should red go to red and yellow go to yellow? thanks!!
