Just stick a multi meter on the conectors beneath the seat and measure the resitance. Goto tandys, get your new one and off you go. You may need to do a few different ones in parallel/series to get the reading spot on so you dont thrown an error.
Sound good mate i would be keen to hear from anyone who has done an inline resistor to trick the ecu. Might try these guys.

I'm going to remove my seats to give the interior a good clean. When disconnecting the air bags there is no way this would trigger them to go off???
Also I'm assuming the bolts come off first to be able to access underneath the seat or do you have to get your hand under there to do it - is there enough 'give' in the wiring when the seats are loose?
