Just stick a multi meter on the conectors beneath the seat and measure the resitance. Goto tandys, get your new one and off you go. You may need to do a few different ones in parallel/series to get the reading spot on so you dont thrown an error.

    2.2k resistor - 100 watt.

We have done heaps of air bag bridges over the years!

Also on the Golf V you can recode it for non side (Seat) airbags too - should be possible on a Polo as well.

    Same deal for 996 / 997 / 987 Porsche as well!

I'm going to remove my seats to give the interior a good clean. When disconnecting the air bags there is no way this would trigger them to go off???

Also I'm assuming the bolts come off first to be able to access underneath the seat or do you have to get your hand under there to do it - is there enough 'give' in the wiring when the seats are loose?

You wouldn't happen to be removing a set of Leather seats would you?
Because I'm in the market for some. If not, good move getting rid of the tartan!
