    Polo Seat Removal

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea on how to remove the seats from a Polo that have a seat height adjustment and storage tray? Has anyone out there done a seat transplant to a bucket seat or something similar? Any photos or any workshop manual removal diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

Really easy mate 4 bolts and air bag wiring connector. FIrst slide the seat all the way fwd , remove 2 bolts at the rear of the seat runners and then slide all the way back, remove 2 front bolts on the seat runners,

Any idea what size the bolt heads are Jimmy? My set only goes up to a T50 in the tamperproof stuff.

Ah, so it's a hex head not the tamperproof head? Can't say I've noticed, probably help if I actually look lol.

Thanks Jimmy! I'm thinking of picking up a Sparco Sprint bucket. Might have to do some retro-fitting, but we'll see how we go. Thanks for the piccies again!

I'd do a bit more research into what happens when you disconnect the airbag wires too.

Yes you are 100% correct if another seat is going in well you are going to have a light on!! Im sure someone must have done it before and put a resistor in series to trick the ecu. Anyone?????????

Call Idealseat in Melbourne - They disconnect seats with airbags in them all the time. Usually in this case for Recaro replacement. Not legal in SA, but somehow is in Vic

Lisa or Michael there will be able to help with the resistor wire, and maybe even a base frame to suit.
