when I had new suspension installed, they replaced the broken ones. Managed to brake one of the replacement ones as well within about 100kms.
Don't know why, could have been due to the wheel alignment not being done soon enough? What can you do...
thanks mate, I thought it was you that had gone through this before and was going to send a PM. Will be going with koni inserts in the next couple of months so hopefully will be the first and last time these are changed in my ownership.

I have standard suspension, however have had right strut top mount and bearings replaced at about 20K and again had both strut tops and bearings replaced recently at 55K due to knocking from front end (though it sounded more like a broken gear box/engine mount) and 'clicking' when turning steering wheel. recently.
2005 VW Polo exhaust systems fault light !!
Model: 05 Polo Match manual
KMs: 53,000
Hi all, I've got a 05 model Polo Match 1.4 manual, 53K so far it has been a good mate till tonight
I started the car from garage @ 8:30pm tonite, ready to heading to shopping centre, drove out for about 100m then felt the engine has less power and car was shaking a bit, noticed the exhaust systems warning light came up !!
stopped at a street nearby, got off the car, can hear the exhaust pipe was making sounds like motorbike....I didn't go any further, went straight back...
guys, any idea what could cause the exhaust systems warning sign and what had happened to my Polo as I described???
thanks heaps
Have you tried turning the car off and on a couple of times? With the subaru's, they were known to throw an engine light but once the car was turned off and on 5 times it reset. Obviously if it didn't reset there was something wrong. No idea if th VW's have such a set up. I would suggest turning on and off a few times to see of it resets. My car played silly buggers the other night with a low coolant level warning light. Checked the coolant, added barely a mouthful equivelent of water and it's been happy since. Was barely on the low level.
What you can hear is likely a section of the exhaust come free before your exhaust sensor. The sensor is not recieving the flow / heat it is expecting, thus the code.
I'd take it to an exhuast shop, or jack it up and see if you can isolate where the sound is coming from (on stands for safety).
Hi guys, wondering if you shed some light on this.
I have a Polo Gti 06 model and when I touch the brakes a tick sound is heard, sounds like a relay switch or something going off inside the dash. It happens every time I press/touch it.
Any idea what this little annoyance could be? I did a quick google search and someone mentioned an ABS fault.

The relay for the brake lights is under the dash. Think mine has done this since day 1.
No problems, but if you are feeling keen, prob not too difficult to swap out if you have any electrical capacity (sorry, had to...)
ah thought that might be the case, not sure if it was something i did or what, thanks guys
