Has anyone explored the re-condition option?
I know on an old Alfa I had, they took it out and sealed it up for me to the tune of $100.
$300 is actually not that bad for a new genuine radiator though I would think.
Well I have a contact at VWA who said if you can show the service center that it's failed in the same spot as the other one then they should warrant it as an existing fault. So if I get no love from the service center I'll give him a call
As for aftermarket, do a search on here. There was someone that had looked into and it was almost $900, you can buy 3 VW ones for that price so I don't think there is much point.

Mine is having the exact same troubles.
I contacted the same member on here who remarked about the battery condition. Funny as the dealer replaced my battery when I bought mine (second hand) so there seems a relationship. Possibly the ECU sees this fault as a dud battery and masks the true fault?
let me know what the dealer says regarding a possible solution.
I'm putting up with it for now as it's intermittent and i doubt they will find anything.
Cheers
Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that when I read the manual upon Pogo's arrival it mentioned something about the computer functions such as average fuel consumption etc resetting after a certain amount of kms. I'm quite sure I recall thinking how pathetic that was. Maybe they're just making an excuse for a known fault?
Meanwhile, has anybody ever had their stereo make an alarmingly loud farting sound (even if the volume isn't that high) and turn off, with no apparent cause? I've had it happen a few times (one nearly caused an accident, it startled me so much) and suspected it may be down to the iPod interface (genuine). Just don't think it something I can easily report as a fault when I have no idea what causes it.
Cheers!
PogoAmy.
Regarding to radiator leaking problem, seem like it a design fault as the lower outlet piping have to support a fair bit movement from lower radiator hose itself. That unsupport hose causing flex on the lhs end tank of the radiator which all made out of plastic, so some thing gotta give... Solution, new radiator which is dirt cheap from vw, & custom made extra support for the hose. lol
Nope this is no fault. Amy the car has two counters, one resets after 2 hours of no ignition the other resets after maximum's like km 9999. I normally reset it for each tank or sometimes leave it when I want to get a long term fuel usage, like after I chipped it to see what change it made.
Hows your car going?

Have you upgraded your speakers and/or changed the speaker wire? had it happened to one of my previous car and a mate's car, in both ocasions, the wires were ran too tight (a little too short), so when the door was opened, it pulls the wire, that the loud ring happens, and something just happens whilst driving.
