Polo A Pillar trim - How do you remove it?

I have removed the a pillar trim aside from releasing the strap that stops the trim from flying around should the airbag release. So how do you fully remove it?

Had a look around, this was covered in an old thread, but the linked images have been removed / timed out from no activity.

I couldnt get the strap off either, I was trying to change the tweeters.
Ended up going to a car audio place to get them to do it

Isn't there a T25 Torx screw behind the small cover with 'AIRBAG' on it?

Also, you'll probably find that the pillar trim has been glued in at the front edge when the windscreen was fitted at the production plant.

Its more complicated than that. I've had it removed, but still attached to the a-pillar by a short strap. The torx screw does not affect the strap removal, the plug that holds it in place does not seem to have an easy way to detach... Friggen painful to get back on and I want to get it sitting correctly again with new tweeters (arriving soon).

    Oh, ok.

From previous experiance with other VWs, you may be able to unhook the strap itself from what ever is retaining it.
