You should hit plautos up he was playing with shifters in his Polo. He might have some advice.
Surely I'm not the only one who has to reach to grab the next gear.
Has anyone looked into raising the shifter up a bit higher, and if al all possible, rearward?
Will any of the shifters on the market fit the 02R 'box? A lot of the manufactrers are from the USA, where of course our 9N platform doesn't exist.

Are you tall? I did have to reach a little for 2nd and 4th, but the short shifter has pretty much fixed that.
What about lengthening the stick as a cheap fix?
I'm about 6', and I have a dodgy back. I find myself leaning forwards all the time. I'm looking at ditching the standard steering wheel and swapping it for a deep dish OMP or similar too.
If I lengthen the stick as such, that'll just make each shift a longer throw, which I don't want. What I DO want is to drop my hand off the wheel, and straight on to the shifter, nice and high.

Built like a T-Rex hey (big body and short arms)?? Is your seat set-up correctly? Not like a lounge chair but up right? Tried all the adjustment available in the seat (angles, height, etc, etc)? You likely would have, but thought I'd asked none-the-less.

I have personally never had a problem with reaching both the shifter or the steering wheel, and I am only 5'7, and firmly in the relm of short legs, small hands, and smells of cabbage!!

Yeah, I dunno what it is, but i've never been comfortable in the seat/wheel/shifter.
That'd be nice, albeit with the wheel further back.

As I don't have the required $1200US for the CAE item, raising the standard shifter unit may be an option.
