Mine is very similar to Petrina's.

I have a GFB DV with a stock tune and the noise is reasonably audable ( + advantage of a nice flutter when under boost gear change).

I like the idea of the first option above. May look at that instead of a custom cover made as I already have my pod mounted in standard air box. Keeps it looking nice and factory.
    Cheers,

    John

Think I'm close to going the Seat intake path, is there a cost effective alternative?

The CDA and pod options seem like a whole lotta pain and possible trouble for... Not much?

Is there a more cost effective (yet proven) alternative option for good air intake? Is the Seat intake good enough on its own, or is the air filter and other piping going to let it down?

the k and n filter combo with the seat, really is the better alternative. with the forge tip this combo gives you alot more high end torqu.

We need to either include or exclude the Forge TIP under both scenarios.

I think the Pod in airbox gives you more top end power.

Mid range I would say no difference.

i still think its all in the intercooler !! But hey!

i mean look at the difference and trust me when you feel your inlet manifold after a real abusing session on a hot day its stone cold!

and i have a cone filter just on the maf no air feed air box completly removed ! lots of air runs under the bonnet when you remove the full airbox!

    Wait Wait Wait...

I thought the intercooler was one of the 2 radiators in the front?

So if the FMIC replaces the tiny ****y little one off to the side with what looks like minimal ventailation, what are the 2 for at the front for?

You serious? The turbo is cooled by that tiny little box, and there is a massive radiator for the aircon...?

Damn, how about swapping the connections over... I like the window down anyways

The gas in the A/C gets VERY hot after it is used to cool the cabin. The condenser cools the gas before it goes back to the compressor where it is further cooled. This is why it is mounted in front of the radiator for optimal cooling. If it was behind the radiator, it wouldn't be as efficient.

I don't think it would be as bad as you think...Intercoolers are designed to have very good air flow through them to enhance the cooling efficacy so that it cools the charge air. Also, the thermo fans behind the radiator draw air through the radiator so increase the cooling effect.
