I got the cheap one, used a Dremel equivalent to open up the drivers side for ventilation to the SMIC.

Grafted the old air scoop onto the new one.

    Money well spent.

The white one has the honeycomb pattern on both sides of the fog.... I like those more...

Me too... But for the extra $60ish, I could not justify it to myself. The one I got required the ventilation holes to be cut out, so if you plan on keeping the SMIC, the more expensive one is a better choice.

Also the free freight I think ends tomorrow, so it will become a lot more expensive.

According to my old man, my grills arrived a week after I ordered them. Also, my badgeless upper grill arrived, so I can't wait to see this combination on my own car. Only 3 weeks to go before I can fit them!!

I tried again, on the driver side, i only able to pull the right side of the cover out, but i cant pull the left side...

then i tried to push it back in, but then i cant

Now i got stuck, the cover is half out half in...

Can anyone give me an idea what is going on...

I really dont want to force it... I already tried a couple of big bang to get it back in but no sucess....

Might visit vw dealer and see what is going on...

Anyone got a good guide for taking the front bumper off on the polo gti ?

EDIT: Never mind remembered there is a guide for removing the front bumper in the Forge FMIC installation guide.

Do you guys think the best way to remove the lower grills without breaking any clips is to remove the front bumper?

The fog light ones are just pull out (remove one screw on the drivers side) they are fairly simple and best to pull near the fogs first I found as they unclip easy.

The lower middle piece I attempted to do the same with no luck and used a pair of wire cutters to hack some of it so it had more flex and then it popped out. The new one clicked in very easy ... assume it would be a nightmare to remove as well once in.
