    Polo GTi exhaust

Hey guys. i dont know if many of you have looked into custom fabricated dump pipes and exhaust systems? i took it around to an exhaust shop mate of mine and he says it looks like a piece of piss to fabricate a dump pipe and full 2.5 inch system with a high flow cat and a better flowing muffler than the stock item... I do see from Guy Harding's R&D that there isnt much of an increase in power.. but i bet it flows a lot better... I got underneath the car when it was up on the hoist and guys it looks so damn easy to work with compared to a lot of jap cars... the turbo outlet points in excatly the right direction --> the rear of the vehicle, and making a flange for it is easy... also the cost is great too.. fully fabricated and installed for $1500 (mild steel), this isnt mates rates either. he hasnt done this vehicle before but says its quite similar to an A3 Turbo. Anybody done this? im game to try it out seeing as though a miltek or similar will cost $3000 ish.

    Welcome to the forum mate

I'm not a great fan of exhaust mods. Typically, unless you mod all the way through, with a high flow cat, you won't notice anything. Even then, going on Guy's comments, there's not much to be gained.

A lot of bucks for not much bang, IMHO. Personally, I'd rather spend the $1500 on suspension and brakes

I had a catback put in today.

I like the sound, and havent felt any power increase as of yet, (ecu has to retune itself)

I have a cannon on the back which I HATE. but anyways, what can you do...

Apparently you cant get much differnet as the place it sits can only take round mufflers.
