The pug GT is a softer and undertune GTi, with about 110KW and not as much equipment as the GTi. They sell both in australia and overseas.

The Swift Sport, is closer to the point but 2 diff price points and rather different performance. The new Pug GTI isn't here yet.

But yes the Golf GTI is in the same segment as the WRX
    Do I know you?

I bought my Satria GTi new almost three years ago new as well, and it was a couple of years old in terms of build date.

I have no doubts the Polo is in another league, however the Satria GTi for the money I paid is a good little car. And it handles like crazy, nothing comes close in that price range, including the Polo.

My GTi is actually still under warranty, I've done 21,000kms and never had any issues. On another note, if you know anyone is interested in buying it let me know. Doubt anyone will find one in better condition, its practically new

Always liked the look of the Satria GTi - those Torana SLR5000 guards do it for me - and it has Recaros as standard.

I agree - looks great IMO.

Engine is tried and tested (Mitsubishi 4G93P). Recaro's are excellent too.

Build quality of course can not be compared to a Euro car.

    This is interesting...

Having own both Satria GTi and Polo GTi. IMHO, they're in the same league but opposite characteristics. The Polo is more refined, torquey, newer chassis design, VW badge, more engine mods potential (250-300ps doable); quite simply a pocket rocket.

The Satria GTi has the better looks, more raw, clumsy interior same can be said of the Recaro being put it, engine not much to shout about (the most you can mod the engine about 170ps-200ps on wheel on NA form). But it's the sort of car meant to be trashing at mountain roads and track day, better steering feel, the front doesn't wash as wide as the Polo.

That's that. Anyway, from what I've heard, VW managed to patent trademark of "GTi" as theirs. So no surprises Peugeot comes with 207 GT instead of GTi
