Polo gearbox and Ibiza

Hi guys just wondering if the Polo 6n ( 1996 model ) and an ibiza of the same year would share identical boxes?

curious as this might get me back on the road much sooner

i do believe they use the same engines and gearboxes (on same type of engine offcourse)
