There is a grommet right over on the passenger side of the firewall I think.

Also that seat trim is the factory option leather...

With the red stitching? Looks like suede in the middle and leather on the sides.

I don't know where you see the suede, but yes, it has red stitching. I have it.

jon_VR6 - tosspot is correct about the leather - its basically leather all over in anthracite with red stitching

its factory option for your guys - here in South Africa we dont have the option - but there is a company that does it identical to the factory options

heres some more pics of the interior of my car

you can see here that the side door panels have also been done in the identical finish - as ive said these guys do it aftermarket and they charge R6500 - to get an idea in your currency you can divide by around 5 (more-or-less) - or check in a currency convertor

about the grommet - there is one on the passenger side but there isnt any space to put in 4 gauge or 1/0 gauge wire in through that - so we drilled very carefully from the footwell side next to that other grommet - making sure that there was nothing there or behind it on the engine compartment side - also had to be very careful not to send the drill bit in too far - we first drilled a very thin pilot hole - then slightly enlarged this with a slightly bigger bit - and then only did we use the really big bit - if you are careful enough it works out - but you are 100% correct in that there is absolutely no space to do any work from the engine compartment side

maybe if you can pick the car up on a ramp there might be space enough from the underneath of the car - but the guy who was doing the drilling for me had done quite a few of these cars before - so he was confident that he wouldnt hit anything when drilling from inside the passenger compartment

your interior is heaps better than our option leather...i'm liking the stitching down the middle of the seats. here is a pic of my leather interior, similar, but not as cool.

Yours looks like it's fitted afterwards... do you have seat warmers? and is it just me or is the door trim not leather with red stitching?

Also, I personally prefer ours slightly, it looks more comfy and the GTI insignia looks cool Of course, naughty's is still cool.

no mine is factory, it has the seat warmers. it does have the leather and red stitching on the doors as well but its just a crap camera so you cant really see it. a mix of both would be cool, yes our GTI sign looks cool but the extra stitching (on each side of the leather fold as seen in naughty's pic) looks pretty awesome, more sporty i reckon.

That's what Maroochy Car Sound were going to do with mine if I went ahead as I didn't want to cut my dash up.
