Polo - clutch

hi there, i have a 1997 polo 1.6ltr manual. I think the clutch is on the way out and just wanted other's opinion..

The clutch only engages very high on the clutch pedal (clutch pedal is nearly all the way out) and only lasts for about less than 1 inch on the clutch pedal. Hope that makes sense. Does this mean my clutch needs replacing, or could this be an adjustment issue?

Sounds like you need a new clutch... 11 years service out of a clutch is pretty good if you ask me

You will be looking at about $500-$700 for a workshop to replace it...
