Thread: Polo 9N3 wheel question

  1. #21

Will have some updated times hopefully this weekend. Not ideal comparison but the last 16.1 was done with out the de-cat being performed. Conditions will be different but it gives some indication.

Butt dyno suggests it is faster, running it against another persons car that would previously pull in third gear, the results have turned, the polo now pulls on that car in thrid gear.

I have run the car for 2 months now (10,000km) with no issues, that may change in the future which isn't really a worry as the basic idea is to go a K3 (18/56) anyway.

and even if you get it dyno tested... won't say anything.
if you want to know improvement you need to get it on the same dyno as before.

i have seen people that had XXXhp on one dyno and about 30 - 60hp less/more on another, to much diffrence between them all.
wich one is correct? you could never tell

Even that isn't fool proof to an extent.

I am happy doing it off 1/4 mile times, At the very least you can gain some insight as to an actual performance gain.

Just checked the tyre placard on the Polo TDI and it has listed 185/60R14, 195/55R15 & 205/45R16 (OD:590mm). I would've thought that 195/50R15 (OD:577mm) & 195/45R16 (OD:582mm) would be a more exact rolling diameter upgrade from 185/60R14 (OD:578mm)??

Yeah, I saw that on the inside of my fuel flap too and thought it was odd sizing. That's why I thought I'd ask what you actually had fitted on yours.
