Bora rims should fit a Polo no dramas at all... Why not test fit them??
This may have been asked before, but what is the offset & Centre Bore of the 16" GTI rim on a Polo GTI? I have just bought a 2006 Polo TDI and want to use my old 16x6.5JJ 5x100 rims from my Bora on the Polo. Thx

Cool another melbourne polo owner
yeah good point..lol. Dont get the car till next week. $14898 for an 06 polo, 42k km one owner, from a vw dealer! bargain in my books! Plus my bora rims still have 205/55r16 on them. I'll wait till the stock 14" tyres need replacing before i put on 195/45r16 to replace them on the polo.

I'm almost certain the bore is the same as the MKIV Golf GTI: 57.0mm
Bora's use the same 57mm bore, and the same +38 offset so it should be straight swap.
But yeah, as you point out... you'll need to lower the profile of those tyres in order to not throw the speedo out.

Julian edgar has done some tests on a Skoda Roomster TDI (same as the polo tdi) with regards to inlet and exhaust changes.
His opinion (and he has a lot of experience) is that the inlet/exhaust changes on the 1.9TDI 77KW engine do next to nothing UNLESS accompanied by a ECU reflash.

As an aside, what is the load rating on the 14" tyre and is it a 185/65R14 or a 175/70R14 or something different?
I'm having trouble finding a 175 tyre with the 85 load rating of my 195/55R15 OEM tyres.
