Polo 9N3 GTI front strut mount and bearing replacement kit part number

    Afternoon,

I'm trying to chase down a slow speed suspension clunk and thought I might replace the strut mounts and bearings at the front.

Does anyone know if these will fit? Originally Audi TT, supposedly. Will fit a Mark V Golf.

    Kind regards,
    Ben

If the car is stationary, have the bonnet open and someone to turn the wheel, can you decipher if the clunk is coming from the strut top? Even put your hand on the top to feel the clunk?

I have a stuffed strut top bearing which I'll replace in the next week or two as time permits. I can't find details on the part numbers, but if the parts have it on them, I can check tonight and relay. The mkV stuff won't fit.

They weren't overly expensive to order from VW, vaguely recall the tops were roughly $180 a pair and bearings $50 a pair.

This will be my 3rd set of tops in 70,000kms.

Thanks. My local suspension place quoted me $300 for the non-genuine, $500 for the genuine kit for the pair. Trying to work out if that's remotely reasonable.

I'm planning on fixing mine soon - I have a noise that sounds like a worn out bush coming from the suspension somewhere - I've had replacement bearings lying around for a while now just need to get the top mounts next.

never actually got round to it, as I'm pretty sure the noise is actually coming from my polybushed control arms - Polo's been a little neglected recently, it's been parked up since november!
