    Polo 9N Power Steering Pump

    Hey Guys

I'm seeking information/guidance on the Polo 9N electric power steering pump
Does the pump simply work once it has power or is there a separate controller?
(I want to use one for another purpose)

    Thanking you for your assistance

    Ok - found the information

The unit is actually made by TRW (or one other vendor)
It has an input for steering angle form the rack
It also takes engine and vehicle speed via can-bus
It gives more assistance at low speed and high steering angles

Pretty cool - but too complex for what I want
