Sorry to here about your vw experience .Just after i picked up my 2006 gti i also noticed it wanted to pull left a bit, i asked my local suspension place they said the polo will go to left because of the set up is for overseas the camber of road in australia slopes down to left not right has to do with it so they said take it back to vw so i did a week later and they did a free alignment now 3 years on it still goes a bit left but is very slight .My tyres have not worn out so its become part of the feel of the car i like going through the corners anyway .I hope you get past your 1st impressions and enjoy your polo.

"Chill Winston" (props who knows what movie thats from )

your car isnt a lemon, they are both very very minor issues, just take it back to the dealer and get them to fix it its just slackness on their part

    now enjoy it!!!

The Touareg loves going to the left also... Don't think you're alone! =P

Good luck, hope it all gets resolved and you can get back to loving your car the way you're supposed to!

the roads are designed to drain out any water in the middle straight out to the sides.... so since we're driving on the left, it is normal for the car to pull abit to the left... (but wont work if u are driving in a multilane & you are in the very right land)

    yeah jess stress less!!!!!

the wheel alignment thing isnt any biggie.

i really hope it doesnt hamper your "first new car" experience because it shouldnt- trust me, once you get the esp and wheel aligment sorted out, your car is just gonna keep on keeping on.

im at 34,500kms right now. i picked my car up around May last year, ex-demo, with 4500kms, and even though my car liked to pull to the left pretty severe, i DID get VW to correct that in my service and they balanced it really well.

and i havent had any issues whatsoever since.

i drive the car like i stole it quite often- i always go on weekend drives even if its just for 2 hours of thrashing the crap out of it after i finish work on a saturday morning (i work night shift).

i hammer it up mt. buller 3 times a week during the winter- i drive up it like the car isnt mine, i absolutely thrash it, and that is a big, steep, 16km hill.

and my car has never, ever, ever failed me. she's always been there for me, and she'll be there for you too.

Im totally with jessica on this one.. furious.

If you paid $2000 for a tv and they delivered an empty box wouldnt you be furious.. With the onus and inconvenience on you to have it sorted out.

Theys basically what they did, got some pimply faced apprentice to tick a few boxes and let JEssica take it on the open road where its potentially dangerous to her and others. Id be asking what else didnt they check..

You pay the delivery costs and for that you expect it to be pre-delivered correctly.
I hope that you were firm about getting the repairs done.
6 months time, you will have forgotten about this.

    Call again.

I would politely explain the issue, ask to speak to a manager and if they won't help you, ask to be put on hold rather than being called back. It is important to try and speak to the same person, so you are not having to tell the story every time (and to be honest, if they hear it often, they won't care).

The 'breaking in' period relates to the early stages of the vehicles life when it is traveling its first kms (few thousand probably).

During this period, there can be some defects that arise, for the Polo it does not seem to be uncommon. On saying that, I believe most people have not had any or many issues.

    Nearly there...
