I completely understand your frustration. I was told by several friends to stay away from VW due to plenty of problems but I personally had never heard of any and thought the golf was very popular and so decided to go for the polo gti. It wasn't until I became VW owner that I realised that most of those things that my friends told me were quite true and hence the list of problems began. Not only was it initially problems with the quality of pre delivery to service but also the minor problems that I had with the car was extremely frustrating. Fortunately though, once i went to another dealer for servicing, they were extremely helpful and friendly. So if I were to buy another VW, it would have to have a combination of looks, fun, acceptible reliability and good customer service at the right price. hence I would most likely buy from my current servicing dealer. Luckily for me, I been able to have quite a but of fun on the odd occasion so during those 'fun' periods, I'm able to forget about the troubles associated with the brand.

Sorry to hear about your apparent bad delivery of your vehicle but firstly i would tone the language down, we can all voice our opinion without it, and if its as bad as you say i would be back as soon as possible, these are a great product , and would be straight to why this wasnt picked up on the PDI roadtest?????.

    Jess,
I see your from Sydney, may I ask where the car was purchased from? If I can help in anyway please don't hesistate to contact me, I have contacts at Barloworld Five Dock, Mascot, and Chatswood Classic. I also have a VAS5051 diagnostic machine of my own. It was the idiot that did your Pre delivery inspection thats to blame, he just ticked the boxes and put fuel in it!! And we pay something like 2k for dealer delivery charges??

i can only agree with these guys jess, its the moron (sorry moderators i dont weather i have to censer that word) who did the pre delivery inspection. id be on the phone to them pronto on monday morning and let them know exactly how you feel, and demand to have it rectifyed imediatly. you pay exuberant prices for this exact thing to not occur. the person who did the pdi should have his a$$ dragged across the coals, no matter what possition he holds.its completly unacceptable.im not trying to be sexist here jess but if you go down there inperson, get the biggest beefyest dude you can possibly find to go down there with you, i know from past experiances certain dealerships that shal remain nameless, have chosen to react differantly when theres a guy there.

that said i hope this doesnt faulter your vw experiance. truth be told ive only had fun since buying one. no problems, no warnaty issues (cross fingers) and it was delivered in a professional and timly manner. this may seem like a horribly experiance and you would be right. but i can guarentee it wont matter in a years time and everything is awsome.

Joe - I was originally going to buy my car from Barloworld actually, But the trade in they gave me was pathetic so i went to Denlo Volkswagen at Parramatta! Thank you very much, Really appreciated.

What do you suggest i do about this? I dont think its fair that ill be disadvantaged because they gave me a lemon!

Im really annoyed at the fact that i paid an extra thousand for esp and airbags and the esp isnt even working properly!

If i wanted to have to fix my car straight away i would have bought a second hand one =|

I suppose we all react to situations differently.

I dont even know what a pdi is.

I called and spoke to him this afternoon and he said that he'd have to speak to his boss on monday.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem when I picked up my car. If I was travelling at 60 and let go of the steering wheel, I would be in the next lane in less than 2 seconds.

I took it back to the dealer, they told me the place where they get all their pre delivery vehicles checked so I took it to them. About 40 mins later, they fixed it. Well, it was fine for about a month, then it came back and it was worse.

Long story short, I got it aligned and balanced elsewhere, the car now drives as though it is on rails. Continental ended up picking up the tab, but if they didn't, I would've had them pass on the bill to VW as it should've been something that was fixed before I picked up the car.

The only way to get the best service and repairs done is not to go right off when you visit the dealer.
If you rant and rave, generally you recieve no respect from the other party. Be firm, ask to see the dealer principal and tell of your problems and dissapointment. Firmly demand the faults to be rectified and ask if at least one other traddie inspect the vehicle. That is the only way to get satisfaction, trust me!! I am in the trade.
You should be entitled to a lone car while yours is being done, its obviously their messup. Remember, dont get loud and abbusive to them, thats the best way to get action.
Good luck with your fine car,
