So this is definately not a digital speedometer with Current gear indication ?

Is your car manual or auto?

In mine (manual) the display you are referring to (0kph with a 1 in the corner) is the average speed display. The 1 refers to 1 of 2 trip totals (as previously posted) - you can toggle between the 2 totals for instance to keep one as an 'overall' average and the other as a trip average that you reset every so often.

The area in the centre of the dash (between the speedo & tacho where the warning lights are housed) is fitted out as a multi-function display in the Golf, Caddy etc, and I believe in the Polo in some overseas markets. That display, in an auto, shows the gear you are in.

As far as I know no VW model has a digital speedo, which is a real shame as I find it immensely useful in my cars that have one.

    I understand now, perfect.

My GTi is Manual (Only available in manual) so it doesnt have the digital display under the warning lights which doesnt bother me too much.

Thankyou for clearing that up though.

    Metallic paint is always extra.

i thought it was 600. But ohh well.

Just remember, anything you add onto the car will attract stampduty.

    490 + 3% = $504.70

Yeah that's sounds bout right for the metallic paint, Candy white is the only non-metallic paint.

Also more on the trip computers. Trip 1 resets 2 hours after you've turned ignition off, Trip 2 resets when everything reaches the max such as 9999km or 99:59 drive time.
