    Parts for coilover install

I am about to travel the well worn path of KW V1 coilovers for my Polo GTI.
Having read previous threads I am about to order the following parts:

    strut spreader tool:
VW/Audi Front Shock Absorber Tube Strut Suspension Spreader Socket Tool | eBay

Strut top mounts HD & Sports Susp (Part No: 22930) :
VW Polo 2005-2009 (9N3) Front Suspension

Do I need to order the bearings listed on the same page, Part No: 3176401 or are they
included as part of the "Strut top mounts" ?

Does anyone change the rear shock mounts?

I installed THS Seat sport intercooler yesterday. Will post some pics soon.
    Cheers.

I've not seen the rears changed.

Front mounts and bearings can be sold as a set, those look like they are separate. Depending on where you get your K1's, the distributor may be able to get them too (I think I got my mounts and bearings from Awesome GTI, coilovers from DPM Performance).

Looking forward to seeing your intercooler install and what you think / any issues you had.

I'm doing the same as you, just waiting for my KW's in the mail!

I purchased the strut spreader you linked.
I also bought my HD front strut top mounts and bearings from the site you listed.
I had to order a few bits and pieces from VW so I threw in 6 strut top bolts, and nuts for the top of the shocks as well, not sure if these come with the KW's but I don't think so.
I am changing my rear shock mounts as they were noisy as hell. I pulled them out and greased them up as a short-term fix and it's shut them up for the time being, but I would replace them if you're taking it all out. There's two different types of rear shock mounts, sports and comfort. I ordered the sports versions and bolts from here:

    Polo GTI MY2008

    Thanks for the info.
I got the links for the front strut top mounts from your previous thread. Wasn't sure whether they included the bearings. It all starts to add up very quickly.
