also, have you driven stock tune + stock dp vs. stock tune + apr dp? what did the butt dyno say?

    cheers.
No Derek at Mona Vale fitted it.. He took off the first unit and there was no sign of leaking.. (would have carbon marks but the flanges per perfectly clean.. Just makes an ugly resonating noise...???

Hmmm, stock tune + Stock DP is obviously stock. Stock tune and APR dump pipe unit, I have not actually driven it like that?? The tune is the biggest kicker, Id do that before the dump pipe.

I am beggining to think,I will just leave the exhaust as is for a while ,and start saving for the APR Flash(which will take me ages to save for).
I might visit my local exhaust shop though and just check if there is anything they can do to get a slighly deper note without messing with the stock configuration too much,

thanks for everyboby who made suggestions ,appreciate it .

If you can get the dump pipe done cheap do it.. can only benefit.

The resonance I describe doesnt occur if your on the throttle, just when the car is decelerating up top... Say give it a hit to 6000rpm and back off.. then it resonates.. But under wide open throttle its fine... No funny noise there.

DP= support mod, no? as in, good for back end of turbo?

had a good chat over the phone with head of service dept of dealership i bought my car from- top blokes-- no warranty guarantees, but the boys are interested to see what dp does to affect flow through lambdas either side of stock cat, after i get dp done.

keep in mind i have a tdi so im always on boost- 450aud seems cheap to facilitate turbo longevity.....

golfman!!! hop to! lol just kidding i think dp is early in the new yr.

I've got a custom 3" DP and have never experience any resonance or any other problems ( ie fault codes ). My 3" DP gives a really nice growl when she's on boost. I would like to get a new muffler(ones with bigger twin pipes) so as to give the rear end a tougher look.
APR'ed V2, 18", BMC CDA. 3" Custom Downpipe, Forge TIP/Diverter Valve. Coming soon: getting my FMIC fitted, KO4!!

I got it done at Newcastle Mufflers in Newcastle, about 2 hours north of Sydney. Only cost $350 all up.

Didn't want to start a new thread so i revived this older one.

I am considering an exhaust for the polo but want to know what the best options are... I want performance gains and nothing overly loud. I hate cannons, want to stick with the twin tips as i want to leave it looking stock.
Evidently i do not know much about this, so please educate me on what would be the best route to take.

Recommendations of places where to get this done would be fantastic and how much $$ this is expected to cost. Any information given will ultimately be the deciding factor, so be nice hahaha

    Thanks,
    Lora
