Opinions needed

Hello all,

I'm after everyone's opinion on this dilema Im trying to work out.

I'm in the process of getting my 07 Polo GTI ready for sale and I need to purchase 4 new tyres. Heres the thing, I'm tossing up between two types of tyres 1. Achilles atr sports ($119 a tyre) or Goodrich G Force Sport ($150 per tyre).

Now knowing Im not going to get any real use from the tyres myself should I just go for the cheapest? Would it make a difference to a perspective buyer?

If I was to keep the car I would go with the Goodrich's but I dont want to spend unnecessary $$$

Better rubber might help

All depends on what the buyers looking for

I honestly don't know if someone buying it will really care what the rubber is. If they have intentions of getting new wheels, etc then they aren't going to care if they are $20 junk.

I absolutely need new tyres - I can't get away without getting new rubber.

I had a set of new Goodyear Eagle F1's when I sold my Polo GTI and I would mention them and some info on them every time a buyer would come and look at the car. No one cared.
I think the fact that you have "new tyres" is enough to be a bonus.

more expensive tyres are not allways the best tyres...
i think those 2 types are a bit the same, you won't notice wich one is best if you tried them on.

i know they arent R spec tyres, but the BFG sports are DAMN good, in that they're sticky enough for a road tyre, progressive (they never break and slide), and they are DAMN predictable. are the achilles good?

back OT, yeah.... go the cheapies. i think the aim now is to not lose as much on the sale as possible.

if someone's been on carsales and noted down seven private and dealer 9n3 polo gti's to look at, all within 40,000km's and $5k of each other, i dont really think that having better tyres is going to cement their decision.
